If you only have one cocktail night in Bangkok, make it Bar Us on Soi Sukhumvit 26 in Khlong Tan. This is the No.4 bar in Asia and No.15 in the world on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2025, and it holds the title of The Best Bar in Thailand 2025, the highest-ranked Thai bar on the list. What makes that wild is the timing: it only opened in September 2023, founded by Taln Rojanavanich and Aum Sawaengsupt, who taught themselves to mix drinks during graveyard shifts at their own backpacker hostel before taking a tiny bar all the way to the continental stage.
The draw here is food-inspired cocktails built around seasonal Thai produce. The menu is laid out like a three-course meal, split into Starter, Main and After, and you choose where to begin and where to end. Two glasses that regulars keep talking about are Coriander + Cucumber + Roasted Rice, bright and herbal with a toasted-rice backbone, and Beef + Onion, a savoury, umami-driven drink that feels closer to eating than sipping. The room is almost entirely black, with a single light falling on the table in front of you like a lab bench. Bartenders work in crisp white coats, shelves of dried herbs and spices line the walls, and the seats face each other across the counter, so the whole night is quiet, deliberate and easy to follow as each drink gets explained.
Expect a premium spend of around 1,500 THB per person, which suits a night when you want a story in every glass. The easiest way in is BTS Phrom Phong, then a short walk into Soi Sukhumvit 26. Seats are limited and it fills up most nights since the ranking, so book ahead through Instagram @barus.bkk before you go.
