Chaiyaphum's cafe scene has grown fast over the past couple of years. What used to be just roadside coffee stands is now a mix of specialty places roasting their own beans, Japanese-style cafes, and bakery-cafes where the cakes are the real deal. The nice thing about this town is that most spots sit within a few minutes' drive of the centre — easy parking, no fighting for a seat like in the bigger cities. We've ordered them starting with the in-town cafes that are easy to grab before a trip, through to the ones on the edge of town heading toward Phu Khiao and Thep Sathit.
Cafes in town — easy to grab before a trip
If you're staying in central Chaiyaphum and want a coffee before driving up the mountains, this group sits in town or in nearby suburbs — easy to reach, open early, and good for grabbing a cup to take with you.
Brave Coffee
A new minimalist cafe in the centre of town, with a warm, moody interior and lots of photo corners. It's the most talked-about cafe in Chaiyaphum right now. Opens at 7am sharp, so it's a great stop to grab a cup before you set off. Hand-brewed coffee, and there's matcha on the menu too.
Tongmon Cafe
A Japanese-style cafe in town with a quiet, calm feel. The standouts are the Aerocano and a jasmine-scented lod chong (Thai pandan jelly drink) that plenty of people order again. Good for sitting and sipping with no rush to be anywhere.
The Rosetta
A bakery-cafe on Ratchaphruek Road, known for its cakes and croissants, with a well-chosen drinks menu to match. Opens from 7am, so the bakery side and the coffee side come together in one place — perfect for breakfast before a trip.
Friend Sheep
A relaxed cafe on Nonthaburi Road that stays open until 11pm — good for working, reading, or stopping in for the evening after a day out. Prices start low, and there's both savoury and sweet to snack on.
Part Cafe & Bar
A cafe by day that turns into a bar in the evening, across from Som Tam Sam Yaek. The most-ordered drinks are the peach americano and the peanut butter coffee. Stays open until 9:30pm.
B Yawn Café
A vintage-style cafe with several seating corners and an easy-going feel. The drinks are well made, and it's a favourite with the photo crowd thanks to all the spots to shoot. Good for a relaxed, unhurried sit-down.
Tip
If you're heading up to Pa Hin Ngam or out to Thep Sathit, leave town a little early. Spots like Brave Coffee and The Rosetta open at 7am, so you can grab a cup to take with you — good coffee gets scarce on the way up the mountains, and the shops there close early.

Half a day with a local who knows the lanes — or cooking a dish yourself — teaches you more than just eating. Book ahead on Klook or GetYourGuide.
Lakeside & riverside cafes — open and breezy
Chaiyaphum has Nong Pla Thao, a big lake near town, and the cafes around it win on views and breeze. They're great for a long morning sit while the air is still cool — good for coming with a group or bringing the family.
Coffee Tree and Bar
A cafe right on Nong Pla Thao lake, shaded and breezy, with fresh air off the water. Mornings are quiet and good for sipping coffee in the breeze; there's coffee plus alcoholic drinks in the evening. A beagle is on hand to greet you. Good for anyone who likes open, airy spots.
Chuanchom Cafe
A cafe in town decked out with greenery and a small indoor waterfall that keeps things cool and pleasant. The menu covers savoury dishes, desserts and cakes — a good place to escape the midday heat.
SAYA Cafe & Restaurant
A fusion cafe in the Khlong Riang area with smoothies, fresh fruit, bakery items and main dishes — good for anyone who wants a proper meal alongside their coffee in one place. Closed Mondays.
Cafes on the way out — stop en route to the mountains or waterfalls
This group sits outside the town centre, so they suit a stop along the way more than a trip in just to sit. Tonfaek in particular is near Pa Hin Ngam — if you're already planning to head toward Thep Sathit, it lines up perfectly.
Nana Intown
A minimalist, quiet cafe inside Siam River Resort. The menu has cold brew, fruit teas and matcha, plus cakes and croissants. Good for a relaxed sit-down. Closed Sundays, opens at 7am.
Tonmai Cafe
A cottage-style cafe near Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University, run by the same owners as Brave Coffee. The crowd favourite is the orange americano soda. A comfortable spot, good for a mid-morning stop.
Tonfaek Cafe
A cool-looking cafe with lots of photo corners, in Thep Sathit district near Pa Hin Ngam — a good stop before or after going up the mountain. Italian sodas start at ฿50 and smoothies at ฿70, so prices are friendly.
Fitting cafes around your nature trip
Cafes in Chaiyaphum pair well with a nature trip, since the main sights — the Krachiao flower fields, Pa Hin Ngam, and Tat Ton Waterfall — are all outside town. That makes it easy to slot a cafe in at the start or end of the day. Here's how we actually arrange it.
Caffeine before leaving town
Out in nature
Back to town, chill to close the day
Worth knowing
The Krachiao flower fields bloom only in the rainy season, roughly June to August — they're not there year-round. Come at the wrong time and you'll just see open grassland. Check the park's page for bloom reports before you plan, so you don't end up disappointed.
