Srithanu is the yoga-and-wellness hub of Koh Phangan, so cafes here lean toward vegan dishes, smoothie bowls, and a slow, chilled-out vibe. Thong Sala is the working port where the ferries come and go, with serious coffee shops you can sit and work in all day. The two areas are about 15–20 minutes apart by scooter, so cafe-hopping both in a single day is easy.
Before you head out to cafe-hop
Some roads on Koh Phangan are steep and very slippery, especially the hill climbs around Srithanu and Haad Yao. If you're not confident on a scooter, ride slowly, wear a helmet, and avoid riding in the rain. A lot of accidents on the island happen on these steep stretches.
Cafes & brunch around Srithanu
Most places in Srithanu are either fully vegan or have plenty of vegetarian options. The mood is relaxed and you can linger, which makes it ideal for a late breakfast after a yoga class.
Karma Kafe
The most design-forward spot in Srithanu — it looks like it was lifted straight out of Canggu, Bali. Standouts are the avocado toast, smoothie bowls, sushi rolls, and a Thai tea latte you can order with coconut or almond milk. Every corner is photogenic, and they run community events now and then like film screenings and workshops.
Pure Vegan Heaven
A low-waste vegan cafe built almost entirely from bamboo. The menu runs from smoothie bowls and salads to vegan Thai food, tacos, quesadillas, sweet-potato pancakes, and breakfast burritos. It's become one of the defining cafes of Srithanu.
ETHOS Koh Phangan
A cafe with a small garden that also hosts yoga classes and events. The dish everyone talks about is the Purple Pancakes, colored naturally, paired with coffee that's done well. The leafy setting makes it a good spot to settle in for a slow morning.
Karma Kafe (coffee corner) / Seed to Feed
Seed to Feed is a garden cafe attached to a hydroponic farm, with greens picked from the beds right next door. Expect sandwiches, salads, organic Thai dishes, and specialty coffee and tea. It's relaxed and quiet — a good place to sit and work.

Specialty coffee around Thong Sala
Thong Sala is the most serious coffee district on the island, with on-island roasters and Australian-style cafes. It's a good fit for remote workers who want stable Wi-Fi and a big table.
Bubba's Coffee — Thong Sala
The most talked-about roaster on Koh Phangan, roasting its own beans on the island. The Thong Sala branch has an air-conditioned room inside and a terrace out back. Brunch standouts are eggs Benedict and house-made sourdough. Fast Wi-Fi, and free water brought to your table.
Indigo Specialty Coffee & Bakery — Thong Sala
A French-leaning cafe known for croissants and fresh-baked bread that many rate as the best on the island. The Thong Sala branch is comfortable for working — power outlets, big tables, and quiet. The menu also has chia pudding, shakshuka, and falafel.
Balance Specialty Coffee
A small spot tucked into the forest near Thong Sala that many call the best flat white on the island. It's seriously Australian-style — leafy, quiet, and built for people who love their coffee black or with just milk. No sea view here; it's all about the cup.
Dots Coffee
On the main road in Thong Sala, near Bangkok Bank and about 200 m from the Thong Sala pier. It does coffee, tea, and lemonade well and doubles as a co-working space, making it a handy stop before or after the ferry.
German Bakery by Achim
A roadside bakery in Thong Sala baking fresh sourdough and croissants daily — a good place to stock up on bread to take back to your room. The coffee is solid, and you can swap in alternative milks for a small extra charge.
Sea-view cafes & sunset spots
For a cafe with a real sea view you'll need to head a little out of town. The west and northwest coast is the side for good sunsets, and several spots cling to clifftops or sit right on the beach.
What's Cup! (Haad Yao)
A clifftop cafe near Haad Yao with a full panoramic sea view. The brunch menu covers eggs Benedict, avocado toast, and pancakes, plus a full lineup of coffee and smoothies. It's a much-photographed sea-view corner, but the road up is fairly steep, so take the scooter slowly.
Footprint Cafe (Srithanu)
A lakeside cafe in the middle of Srithanu — calm and quiet, good for reading or working. The staff are friendly, vegan dishes start around THB 100, and there's free drinking water. The view is over the lake rather than open sea, but it's shaded and pleasantly cool.

Prices and seasons, straight up
Coffee and brunch on Koh Phangan run noticeably higher than on the mainland because everything has to come over by ferry. Most cappuccinos land at THB 70–100. Room rates on the island swing hard with the season too — nights near the Full Moon get pricier and fill up fast, so book ahead if you're coming then.
