The Four Regions Floating Market sits along Sukhumvit Road on the South Pattaya side, about 12 kilometers from Pattaya Beach — roughly a 20–30 minute drive. The draw is the way it gathers the character of all four Thai regions into one place, with clearly divided zones for each. You can wander the wooden architecture, buy food and gifts, and hop on a paddle boat to see the market from the water. If you're in Pattaya and want an easygoing half-day of light cultural sightseeing, this place does the job well.
Opening hours and entry fees
- Opening hours: Daily, roughly 10:00 AM–8:00 PM (some periods open at 9:00 AM). Ticket sales usually stop about 30 minutes before closing.
- Entry for Thai nationals: Free (bring your ID card to show).
- Entry for foreign visitors: Adults around 100–200 THB, children around 50 THB.
- Quietest times: Before noon on weekdays · Late afternoon into early evening, when it cools down and walking around is more comfortable.
Before you go
Ticket prices and activity packages change with seasonal promotions. It's worth checking an online booking channel (Klook / Trip.com) or calling the market before you set off, so the price doesn't catch you off guard.

Four-region food worth trying
Food is the main reason people come to this floating market. Each regional zone sells its own local dishes from boats and waterside stalls. Prices mostly land in the tourist-market snack range. Here are the dishes you can find and should try.
Khanom jeen nam ngiao · Sai ua (Northern)
The Northern zone serves Lanna dishes like nam ngiao curry over rice noodles, fragrant grilled sai ua sausage, and crispy pork rinds — eaten alongside the wooden Lanna-style houses.
Som tam · Grilled chicken · Sticky rice (Isan)
The Isan zone has pounded papaya salad, grilled chicken, and hot sticky rice — a proper, filling meal that's a bit easier on the wallet than the showpiece dishes.
Pad thai · Boat noodles (Central)
The Central zone sells pad thai, boat noodles, and old-style Thai sweets — good for a quick bite while you walk around.
Bold Southern dishes (Southern)
The Southern zone has gaeng leuang (yellow curry), khao yam rice salad, and intensely flavored grilled seafood — spice lovers shouldn't skip it.
Coconut ice cream · Mango sticky rice
The market's most popular cool-down sweets: coconut-milk ice cream served in a coconut shell, and sweet, creamy mango sticky rice.
Unusual grilled bites · Grilled seafood
There are stalls selling unusual grilled bites to try for fun, plus grilled shrimp, shellfish, crab, and fish by the water — good for a social-media photo.
About food prices
This is a tourist market, so food costs a little more than at an ordinary market. Ask the price before you order, and carry small cash — many of the boat stalls still don't take QR-scan payment.
Souvenirs and handicrafts
Beyond the food, another highlight is the gift shops and handmade crafts from all over the country. You can pick up gifts to take home, all in one place.
- Woven textiles and silk — Northern cotton, Isan silk, and Southern batik, with weaving demonstrations to watch.
- Woodwork and basketry — home decor, woven baskets, and handmade odds and ends.
- Silverware and jewelry — folk craftsmanship priced from small souvenirs up to collector pieces.
- Dried foods as gifts — chili pastes, processed snacks, and regional local sweets that are easy to carry home.
Boat rides and activities in the market
The thing that sets this place apart from an ordinary walking market is taking a paddle boat to see the market from the water, viewing the stalls and wooden houses from a different angle. It's an activity that kids and adults can both enjoy.
- Market paddle-boat ride — boat tickets at a special Thai-national rate around 150 THB; boats seat about 4 people and loop the market for 30–45 minutes with a paddler.
- Daily performances — Thai dance, regional folk music, and cultural shows at set times.
- Extra activities — a zipline across the water, a tram ride, the Bridge of Love, and Thai-life photo spots.
- Massage and herbal compress — relaxing massage services are available as you wander.
Boat-ride tip
Paddle boats are limited and the queues get long on weekend evenings. If you want to be sure you'll get a ride, buy your boat ticket in the early afternoon and then go off to sample the food.
How to get there and who it's for
Drive / Taxi
About 12 km from Pattaya Beach, a 20–30 minute drive, with a large parking lot — ideal if you're coming as a family or group.
Songthaew (red truck)
Catch a songthaew from central Pattaya heading toward South Pattaya–Sukhumvit. Cheaper, but allow extra time and agree on the price first.
Who it's for
Families with kids, culture lovers, and anyone who wants to wander and snack at an easy pace. If you prefer a genuine, unstaged local market, this one may feel a little too touristy.
