Pattaya has real Korean and Japanese communities living here, especially around Naklua and Jomtien, so restaurants from both countries compete on authenticity harder than in most tourist towns. We've split this into two sides — Korean (BBQ, buffet, rice bowls) and Japanese (ramen, sushi, sashimi, izakaya) — then ranked each by what the place genuinely does well. All prices are rough figures per head and can shift with the menu and the season.
Korean Restaurants in Pattaya — BBQ and Buffet
Pattaya's Korean side shines with pork-belly BBQ (samgyeopsal) and wallet-friendly buffets. Most of the cluster sits on the Central beach side and around Soi Buakhao. The majority serve panchan (side dishes) that you can refill freely, just like back in Korea.
Hanok Korean BBQ
A BBQ spot built like a traditional hanok wooden house on the Pattaya beachfront in the Central area. The highlight is freshly sliced, well-seasoned samgyeopsal and beef kalbi, with plenty of refillable panchan. The mood is genuinely Korean and warm. Friday and Saturday get busy, so book ahead; lunch is easy to walk into.
Jin Sung Korean Restaurant
A classic Korean place reviewers praise for the owner's service and the freshness of the ingredients. The BBQ buffet starts around 359 baht and comes with loads of side dishes — great for a group that wants to eat their fill without spending much.
Bar-B-Q Plaza (Central Festival)
The easiest Korean-Thai BBQ chain to find in Pattaya, sitting inside Central mall. There's beef, pork, seafood and veg to grill on the bouncing dome pan — ideal for families with kids, or a day you'd rather eat in air-con and not worry about parking.
Korean-side tip
Cheap BBQ buffets usually cap your table time at around 1.5–2 hours. If you're coming as a big group on a weekend evening, call to book or ask about seating slots first so you don't make the trip for nothing.

Japanese Restaurants in Pattaya — Ramen and Izakaya
The Japanese side splits into two groups: the ramen-and-izakaya crowd that's serious about broth and grilled dishes, and the sushi-sashimi crowd that's all about fresh fish. We'll start with ramen and izakaya — most of them cluster around Central and Soi Buakhao, within walking distance of each other.
Men Labo
The second branch of an Osaka ramen shop, now open on Soi Buakhao. Known for its rich tonkotsu broth and rare-style chashu sliced thin over the noodles. Pattaya's Japanese residents eat here themselves. The place is small, so you may face a short queue at peak times.
Izakaya Baku
An izakaya many call the most authentically Japanese in Pattaya. It does tabletop charcoal yakiniku with good-grade Korat beef, plus sushi, Tokyo-style ramen and grilled dishes. Open late until around 2am — a solid spot to settle in for a long drink and meal after a night out.
Ozawa Ramen
A small ramen shop on the Jomtien side with strong reviews — handy for anyone staying in Jomtien who wants a warm bowl without driving into town. The broth is well balanced, the noodles firm, and the price friendly.
Japanese Restaurants in Pattaya — Sushi and Sashimi
If you're here specifically for raw fish, Pattaya runs from fine-dining counters where you watch the chef shape each piece, down to Jomtien spots serving big plates of salmon sashimi at prices you can actually justify. We've ranked from premium down to the best-value options.
Ronin Japanese Restaurant
A fine-dining Japanese restaurant in Naklua with a minimal, authentically Japanese design. There's sushi, sashimi, tempura, teppanyaki and robatayaki, plus special items like truffle sushi, foie gras and wagyu sushi. Locals rate it among the top in Pattaya for fresh fish and presentation. Book a table.
Salmon Yukito
A Jomtien spot near Makro known for going all-in on salmon — both sushi and big plates of sashimi, generous portions at a reachable price. Perfect for salmon lovers who want to eat their fill without stepping into a premium restaurant.
Shintake Pattaya
A Jomtien Beach Japanese spot that foreign reviewers call the best in the area. It serves sushi, sashimi and hot Japanese dishes in a relaxed setting. The place is small with only a few tables and fills up fast in the evening, so come early or book to be safe.
Izakaya 9
A Jomtien izakaya with a menu running over 300 items — sashimi, sushi and yakitori included. Great for a group that wants to order lots and share. Reviews run high and the vibe is the easygoing feel of a Japanese bar.
Japanese-side tip
Small raw-fish spots around Jomtien usually take in fish in batches. If you want the freshest sashimi, go in the early evening soon after the shop opens — not too late, when the good stuff may have run out.
How to Pick by Where You're Staying
- Staying around Central / Pattaya Beach — Hanok, Jin Sung, Bar-B-Q Plaza, Men Labo and Izakaya Baku are a short walk or motorbike-taxi away, ideal for a night you want to eat close to your hotel.
- Staying in Naklua — Ronin is the fine-dining anchor of this zone, good for a special meal or celebration.
- Staying in Jomtien — Ozawa Ramen, Salmon Yukito, Shintake and Izakaya 9 are all in the same area, so you skip the drive into town and the traffic.
- With kids / want air-con and a mall — Bar-B-Q Plaza at Central Festival is the easiest call, with parking inside the mall.
Enjoy Pattaya With Your Wits About You
Pattaya has a lively nightlife scene, especially around Walking Street, and plenty of izakaya and BBQ spots stay open late. If you're heading out after your meal, keep an eye on your valuables — don't leave your phone or wallet on the table and walk off — and grab a car or motorbike taxi through an app or from a spot you trust, always agreeing the price before you get on.
Honest note
Prices on this page are rough figures per head, pulled from reviews and the menus we could find. The real numbers can climb on long weekends and holidays, and premium items (wagyu, imported fish) are charged separately by weight — check with the restaurant before ordering anything special.
