Phichit doesn't have hundreds of cafes like a big city, but what's here is enough to pick from depending on the rhythm of your day. In the morning, find a spot in town for coffee before heading out; late afternoon, move over to Bueng Si Fai for the cool breeze off the water. We've split things into two main groups — lakeside cafes at Bueng Si Fai and cafes in the town centre — then ordered them by how worth a stop they are for first-time visitors.
Bueng Si Fai Lakeside Cafes — Water Views, Cool Breeze
Bueng Si Fai is a large freshwater lake in the middle of town, ringed by a walking and cycling path, with cafes dotted along the lakeside road. The draw is the open view and the late afternoon once the sun softens — good for photos and for settling in for a while. Most places here stay open into the evening, and a few have a night-time zone too.
For You Coffee Lake View
The lakeside spot that comes up most often when you search Bueng Si Fai cafes. The view opens straight onto the water, there's an outdoor zone to catch the breeze, and they rent out bikes for a loop around the lake. Best from early afternoon into the evening, waiting for the light to soften.
White Space Cafe
A white-toned cafe on Bueng Si Fai Road, bright and clean with green plants worked in. There's an air-conditioned indoor zone and an outdoor one, a full menu of coffee, tea, milk drinks and several kinds of cake — good for photos and a short work session.
Caffe' De Chalawan
A cafe that plays on Phichit's Chalawan crocodile legend, with several photo corners. It's on the Sa Luang Road side near the town centre and opens early, before 8am — handy for a coffee before walking around the lake or visiting a temple.
The sweet-spot timing
The Bueng Si Fai lakeside gets harsh sun from midday to about 2pm. If you want to sit comfortably and get good photos, aim for 3pm onwards — the breeze starts to cool off and the light goes soft. Near the end of the year is when the weather is at its most pleasant.

Half a day with a local who knows the lanes — or cooking a dish yourself — teaches you more than just eating. Book ahead on Klook or GetYourGuide.
Phichit Town Cafes — Open Early, Good for Working
Most of the in-town cafes are within a short distance of each other, and several open early — from 7:30am — so they make a good start to the day before you head out. Some have a work zone, a small meeting room and strong wifi. On a day when the sun is fierce and you'd rather not bake by the lake, sitting in town is more comfortable.
Chim Hong Cafe
A Chinese-vintage-meets-modern cafe near the Wang Krot old market, with plenty of photo corners and a clear old-quarter feel. The dishes people order most are the cream-cheese garlic bread and the butter cake. It only opens late morning — good to pair with a wander through the old market.
Chim Niyom Cafe
A loft-style cafe in town with indoor and outdoor zones, strong wifi, and a small meeting room that fits a group of about 12. It opens early at 7:30am — good for a long work session or a meeting.
Lark Cafe
A proper coffee-lover's spot in brown-and-white tones, using northern Thai beans, with premium-grade matcha and imported chocolate. The focus is on the coffee itself. It opens early, so it suits early risers looking for a cup before heading out.
Black Ground Cafe & Dining
A black-toned cafe on Sa Luang Road with plenty of space and comfortable seating, plus a full menu of coffee, food and bakery. It stays open until 9:30pm — one of the few places in town where you can keep sitting into the evening.
Makesense
A small place tucked away near Khlong Kachen, with a lawn and trees plus an air-conditioned zone, focused on specialty coffee where you can pick your roast level. The standouts people talk about are the affogato and the Nutella almond piccolo. Good for coffee fans who want to try something a bit special.
Stadium Coffee
A Thai-house-style spot with warm yellow lighting on Sa Luang Road, with a relaxed, homey feel. It stays open until 7pm — good for a chilled-out evening without heading all the way to the lake.
Out-of-Town Cafes — Rice-Field Views, a Short Drive Away
If you have a car and want the open feel of the rice fields, there are several cafes spread across the surrounding districts, none too far from the town centre. They're good for a day when you want a change of scene from the lake and the town.
De Na Cafe
Rice-field views with photo stairs and a cloud-watching corner, out near Noen Sawang in Pho Prathap Chang district. Open 09:00–18:00, around 50–200 THB.
Chamcha Cafe
Has a waterfall corner and a photo bridge, surrounded by nature, with mu kratha (Thai barbecue), northern food and cake. Near Khlong Kachen, open 10:00–17:00.
Apsara Cafe
European-mansion style in wood and glass, with a decorative tuk-tuk and a menu of pork steak, pasta and smoothies. In Wachirabarami district, open 08:30–17:30.
A bit of straight talk
Up-country cafes change their opening hours often, especially the ones open only on weekends. Before any place that's your main target, double-check the cafe's page to be sure. Many of them are mostly cash-only, so keep some cash on you.
How to Pick a Cafe to Match Your Trip
- Early start, kicking off the day — go for an in-town spot that opens at 7:30am, like Lark, Chim Niyom or Stadium, for a coffee before heading out.
- Want a water view and photos — head to the Bueng Si Fai lakeside in the late afternoon; For You Coffee or White Space to catch the cool breeze.
- Working or meetings — Chim Niyom has a meeting room and strong wifi; Black Ground stays open late.
- Have a car and want rice fields — drive out of town to De Na or Chamcha for a change of scene.
