A lot of people drive through Phichit on the way to Chiang Mai or Phitsanulok without stopping, even though the town has plenty of easygoing nature spots that fit a short weekend. The main draw, Bueng Si Fai, was recently renovated and now has a long cycling track that loops the whole lake. The Nan River, which cuts right through the center of town, has lovely riverside spots for an evening walk. And just outside town you'll find the orchards that grow Tha Khoi pomelo, which carries a GI mark. We've laid this plan out so you can actually follow it — no rushing, with room to rest and take photos.
The 2-Day, 1-Night Plan at a Glance
Day one stays in town — Bueng Si Fai in the morning when the air is nice for cycling and feeding the fish, then out to the Nan River in the evening for the sunset. Day two heads just outside town to the Tha Khoi pomelo orchards near the old city and Pho Prathap Chang, with a stop at the old-city park before heading home. Having your own car is the most convenient, but you can still reach plenty of spots around town by bike.
- Day 1 — Bueng Si Fai (cycling + feeding the fish + freshwater aquarium) → lunch → Princess Mother Park → evening on the Nan River, Wat Tha Luang
- Day 2 — Tha Khoi pomelo orchards, taste and buy some to take home → Phichit Old City Park → grab local treats before heading back

Day 1 — Bueng Si Fai + the Nan River
Bueng Si Fai is a large freshwater lake in the center of town that doubles as both a public park and Phichit's main check-in spot. It's open every day from before dawn until evening, with free entry. Early mornings are cool and pleasant — a good time to cycle or walk for exercise before the sun gets harsh.

Tip
If you come in the hot season (Mar–May), skip walking around Bueng Si Fai at midday — it's exposed with little shade. Cycling in the morning or evening is far more fun. Bring water and a hat.
Day 2 — Tha Khoi Pomelo Orchards + Old City Park
Tha Khoi pomelo is an heirloom variety from Phichit, first grown around Ban Tha Khoi in the old-city subdistrict more than a hundred years ago. The fruit is round, with pink-tinged flesh and a sweet-tart flavor, and it carries the province's GI mark. The harvest mostly runs from around October to April, so come in that window and you can eat it fresh from the orchard. Off-season, you can still find processed versions and souvenirs.

Where to Stay
For a nature trip like this, staying in Phichit town is the most convenient — it's close to Bueng Si Fai, the Nan River, and the restaurants. You can be up early and cycling in time, then walk the riverside in the evening and easily make it back to your room.
Hotels in Phichit town
Pick a place near Bueng Si Fai or close to the Nan River so you can reach the main sights quickly — ideal for an early-morning cycling plan.
Riverside stays
Some places sit near the river for a quiet, calm atmosphere — in the evening you can walk out and catch the sunset right by the water.
