Isan food in Prachinburi isn't just a single plate of som tam. Plenty of places do the full spread the way Isan folks actually eat it — sour-spicy papaya salad, rich larb, herb-marinated grilled chicken, then a spicy nam tok or tom saep to slurp alongside. The nice thing about this province is that the shops are spread across the districts, so it's easy to grab a meal whether you're in town, passing through on Route 304, or down around Kabin Buri. We've split the spots by zone below so you can pick whatever's on your route.
Isan Spots in Prachinburi Town
In town there are old-school shops where people who work nearby meet up for lunch and dinner regularly. The draw is bold, full-on flavor — tam sua and grilled chicken land on almost every table together.
Lek-Wat Som Tam (Nong Chuang)
An old-school shop in the Nong Chuang area that reviews mention again and again for the cooking. The tam sua and chicken-foot som tam are rich and punchy, the grilled chicken has crispy skin, and the sun-dried beef comes out fragrant from the fryer. If you like things bold and intense, this one delivers. Big menu, and it gets busy at lunch, so leave a little time to wait.
Larp Rin Isan Restaurant
An Isan shop in the Thetsaban Damri area on the edge of town, across from the Isuzu Prachinburi center. Easy to find right on the main road, with a full spread of som tam, larb and grilled chicken. Good for a lunch stop while passing through town, and the seating is comfortable rather than cramped.
Tam Mua, Robinson Prachinburi
A branch inside the Robinson mall for anyone who wants Isan food in cool air-conditioning. Duck larb, fried duck bill, Mae Noi-style tam lao and som tam on a tray — generous toppings and a varied menu. Mall-brand pricing, but the flavors stay consistent. Good for bringing the family or coming as a group.
How to Order a Full Spread
To do Isan right, order it as a spread — one som tam, one larb or nam tok, one grilled chicken, then add a tom saep or chicken broth to slurp. That way you get sour, spicy, rich and something hot to drink, all in one meal.

Roadside Spots on Route 304, Si Maha Phot
If you're driving Route 304 between Paet Riu and Korat, you'll pass big Isan shops with easy parking — handy for a stop on the way to Wang Nam Khiao or the Prachinburi side of Khao Yai.
Isan House 304
A large place right on Route 304 in Tha Tum subdistrict, before Kasemrad Prachinburi Hospital. The shop is decked out with sticky-rice baskets and wot reed pipes, with wide parking, a banquet room, and live music in the evening. Several kinds of herb-marinated grilled chicken are the headliner, followed by pork-neck nam tok, Isan tam tat, duck larb and Chum Phae chicken soup. Great for a group or a big table.
Som Tam Je News (Si Maha Phot District Office)
A som tam shop in front of the Si Maha Phot district office. Locals talk about the generous toppings and the full-on, punchy flavor. The menu runs from several styles of som tam to crispy fried pork — an easy, friendly-priced spot for a quick lunch stop.
Isan Spots in Kabin Buri and Prachantakham
Over on the Kabin Buri and Prachantakham side there are tucked-away spots that locals seek out — bold, homey flavors at gentle prices, good for anyone heading to the eastern part of the province.
Som Tam Talat Taek, Kabin Buri
A som tam shop in Kabin Buri across from the Kabin post office, with comfortable seating and a big lineup of Isan dishes — pork larb, thin-noodle som tam, grilled chicken, grilled Isan sausage, grilled catfish, and a standout dipping sauce. Open from late morning into the evening, so you can drop in across several time slots.
Tam Nua I-Nui Na Naen, Prachantakham
A hidden som tam shop in the Ban Pak Dong area, Dong Bang subdistrict, Prachantakham, known for som tam piled high — true to its name. The owner picks fresh ingredients, and the heaped som tam, pork larb, fried chicken and omelet are what people order most. It's a bit deep down the soi, but locals make the trip for it.
Chom Chon (Riverside Isan)
A riverside spot with a menu that mixes Isan and seafood — som tam on a tray, fried fish maw with garlic, and clear-broth tom yam with sea bass. Good for settling in for a long, relaxed meal by the water. If you want Isan food with a view, this is the one.
