Satun is a small town that's easy to get around — most of the in-town cafes are close to each other, just a few minutes by car or on foot. If you're after sea views, there's a cluster of cafes around Pak Bara pier where you can sit and watch the water. And if you cross over to Koh Lipe, the island has fresh-coffee spots right on the beach and along the walking street to break up your day. We've grouped the cafes by location so you can pick based on whether you're in town, at Pak Bara, or over on the island.
How Satun's cafes break down by area
- Satun town — minimalist coffee shops, home cafes, and halal cafes, all easy to reach and close to the old town and street-art district
- Pak Bara seaside — beachfront cafes near the pier where you sip coffee with sea views and boats coming and going; great for a stop before or after your boat to the islands
- Koh Lipe — cafes along Sunrise Beach, on the Walking Street, and inside resorts that let outside guests in; more about the vibe than anything fancy

Cafes in Satun town and Pak Bara
Let's start on the mainland. This set sits in Satun town and around Pak Bara pier. Names, hours, and locations are drawn from TAT Satun office info and recent reviews — still, check each place's page again before you go, since some small cafes shift their days off with the seasons.
Na Lagu Coffeehome
A loft-vintage home cafe that locals in Satun bring up a lot, with a hundred-year-old tree growing right inside. It's shady and relaxed, the coffee is well made, and there's food too — the crab omelette is a standout to order alongside your coffee. Good for settling in for a while, morning or afternoon.
Narita Cafe Satun
A Japanese-style cafe in town split into two zones — the cafe side serves fresh coffee and bakery, while the other side is a Japanese restaurant with sushi and sashimi. The decor is a clean, warm brown. Good if you want both coffee and a proper meal in one place.
Starin Cafe & Bistro
A halal cafe in white and brown tones on Suwannadee Road in the Phiman area, with photogenic minimalist decor. The black-pepper beef steak and MSG-free dishes are the draw, and there's fresh coffee and other drinks. Good for lunch followed by coffee.
Little Brownies Cafe
A cute minimalist white-toned cafe in the Soi Ton Mai Yai area near Phiman Phitthayasan School. It's known for freshly baked brownies and homemade cakes, with smooth, balanced coffee and drinks. Good for an afternoon coffee-and-dessert stop.
313 Pakbara Cafe
A seaside cafe at Pak Bara in minimalist brown tones, where you can sit with clear sea-and-sky views and boats moving in and out of the pier. The signature summer drinks and cakes stand out. Good for a stop before or after your boat to Koh Lipe or Koh Tarutao.
MaBara Cafe
A Pak Bara beachfront cafe with both sea and mountain views, plus a swing and a sandy play area for kids — a good family pick. Standout drinks include butterfly-pea lemonade and black peach, and there's bakery too. Open from morning to evening.
Suanpraw Cafe
A cafe set in a coconut grove with a shady, easygoing feel, serving halal food, bakery, and a wide range of drinks. Good for escaping the heat under the trees — if you like nature cafes for a long, relaxed sit, this one fits. Closed Wednesdays.
Lhong Khao Cafe
A mountain-view cafe set out in nature, with coffee, steak, pizza, and fresh seafood, so you can make a real meal of it. Good if you're driving out of town for somewhere quiet. Closed Tuesdays.
Tip for the island crowd
If you're catching a boat to Koh Lipe or Tarutao from Pak Bara pier, give yourself a little extra time to arrive early — that way you can stop at 313 Pakbara or MaBara for coffee with a sea view before you board. Coffee on the islands runs noticeably higher than on the mainland.
Cafes on Koh Lipe
Now over to Koh Lipe. The island's cafes cluster in two main spots: the Walking Street in the middle of the island, and Sunrise Beach, where the cafes are inside beachfront resorts. Prices on the island run higher than in town because everything has to be hauled over by boat — but what you get is that beachfront coffee feeling you can't find on the mainland.
Elephant Koh Lipe
A Walking Street cafe that Koh Lipe visitors tend to stop at, with beachfront seating and often live music. The standouts are matcha latte, iced mocha, and rich hot chocolate. A chilled-out spot to rest during an evening stroll along the Walking Street.
Bloom Bar (Bloom Cafe)
A small loft-style glass-walled cafe on the Walking Street, with cool air conditioning and comfy seating. The draws are Arabica coffee, hot latte, matcha latte, and honey pancakes. Good for ducking out of the sun for a midday coffee.
KaFair Coffee
A small coffee shop on the Walking Street with charm in its soft lighting and outdoor tables in the breeze. Beyond coffee, there's roti to order alongside, and it stays open late — good for an after-dinner coffee before heading back to your room.
Castaway Resort Cafe
A cafe inside a Sunrise Beach resort that's open to outside guests, with a beachfront deck for watching the sea and the sunrise or sunset. The fruit smoothies, fruit cocktails, fresh coffee, and macchiato stand out. Good in the morning or evening just to sit with the view.
Straight talk on island prices
Coffee on Koh Lipe runs about 30–50% higher than on the mainland — normal for an island where everything has to come over by boat. Don't be surprised if a latte is 120–150 baht; what you're paying extra for is the beachfront setting. If you want to save, get your coffee fix while you're in town or at Pak Bara, where it's much cheaper.
Pick a cafe by the style you like
For minimalist and photos
Little Brownies, Starin Cafe, and Narita Cafe in town — clean decor and plenty of photo corners, ideal for cafe-hopping.
For shady and natural
Na Lagu Coffeehome, Suanpraw Cafe, and Lhong Khao Cafe — sit under the trees or with a mountain view, good for escaping the heat and lingering.
For the seaside
313 Pakbara and MaBara on the Pak Bara beachfront, plus the beachfront cafes on Koh Lipe — all about sea views and the breeze.
Cafe-hopping in Satun over 2 days: town + island
If you want to hit cafes on both the mainland and the island, here's a two-day route. Spend the first day in town and at Pak Bara, then take a boat over to stay the night on the island, and chase the Koh Lipe cafes on day two.
Town cafes, then on to Pak Bara
Catch a boat to the Koh Lipe cafes
Straight talk
Many cafes on Koh Lipe shift their hours with the tourist season. In the low season (roughly May–October) some close or open shorter hours because fewer boats reach the island. If there's a particular place you've got your heart set on, check its page first. Town and Pak Bara stay open year-round. Also, plenty of island cafes are cash-only, so bring cash to make things easier.
