Suan Somdet Phra Sri Nakharin Park Nonthaburi is the 11th of the royal commemorative public parks, sitting along Sri Saman Road in Ban Mai, Pak Kret district. The whole site is about 102 rai, split between land and a large lake that takes up more than half the park. That makes it feel open and breezy, and greener than a lot of city parks. Locals use it for exercise and for bringing the family to sit and relax in the evening.
The thing people remember this park for is the Thai pavilion out on the lake, reaching into the water. It's both a shady spot to catch the breeze and the most popular photo angle. There are loads of fish around the lake, so plenty of people bring their kids to feed them. Around the edges you'll find landscaped gardens, a botanical garden with seasonal flowering plants in different colours, and an open multi-purpose lawn for outdoor activities.
What you can do here
- Walking / running — there's a track around the park plus a riverside path, smooth surface, plenty of shade. Good for both an easy stroll and a proper run.
- Cycling — there's a cycling track separate from the running path, and if you didn't bring your own bike you can rent one inside the park.
- Relaxing by the water — the lakeside pavilion and the benches around the lake are the spots to catch a cool breeze in the early morning and before sunset.
- Feeding the fish — the lake is full of fish, kids love it, and you can pick up fish food near the entrance.
- Photos — the Thai lakeside pavilion, the flower garden and the fountain in the middle of the lake are the park's main backdrops.
Best time to go
The park is open daily from 4am to 8pm. The best windows are early morning before 8am, and the evening from 4pm to 6:30pm, when the sun isn't harsh and the breeze off the lake is cool. Midday gets pretty hot since the area is so open.

Getting there / parking
The park is on Sri Saman Road on the Pak Kret side, and driving is easiest because there's free parking inside. If you're coming from Pak Kret pier, take Tiwanon Road, turn at the first intersection and carry on for about 2 km. Anyone coming from the Bangkok side via Chaeng Watthana–Sri Saman gets there easily too.
- Car — there's a car park inside, free, and it's the most convenient option if you're bringing a bike or the family.
- Bus / van — there are routes running along Sri Saman and Chaeng Watthana roads; get off and walk into the park.
- Pair it with the MRT Purple Line — get off at Pak Kret Intersection or Chaeng Watthana station and take onward transport. It's not right at a station, so budget a little extra for the connection.
