Udon's cafes fall into two clear groups. In town, around Udon Dutsadi Road, Naresuan Road, and Nong Prajak Park, most places are minimalist or loft-style cafes that are easy to reach and good for working. Out of town, along the bypass and the rice fields ringing the city, the cafes lean into nature with gardens and field views, built more for photos and slow afternoons. We've ordered these by purpose, not just by how good the coffee is, because a place with great coffee but few seats and a place with comfy seating and a plug at every table suit completely different people.
In-town work cafes with plugs and WiFi
This group is the one where you can actually settle in for hours — plugs, WiFi, and seating that fits a laptop. Most sit in the city center around Udon Dutsadi and Naresuan roads, easy to reach and good for freelancers, students, and anyone who wants a change of scene from the office. Coffee starts around 60–90 THB.
LOBBY Cafe & Workspace
A cafe designed for people who came to work, with a clear split between the cafe side and the workspace side. It's quiet and comfortable, with plugs and WiFi, and works well for a long stretch of solo work or a relaxed meeting. The menu covers coffee, matcha, baked goods, and sandwiches. If your plan is to sit and work all day in town, this is the one that fits best.
Option Coffee Bar
A minimalist cafe in clean white tones on Udon Dutsadi Road, across from Wat Matchimawat. The fit-out is simple and easy on the eyes, good for working or reading. They take the coffee seriously, with specialty options, one-plate rice dishes, and sourdough. Open daily 8am to 6pm. Reviewers keep mentioning how bright the room is — it photographs well too.
Space 'n Taste
An in-town cafe with a co-working area built specifically for long work sessions, good for freelancers and students who need to grind through several hours. Seats are wide and there are plugs for laptops. It's the pick if you want a co-working feel rather than a typical photo cafe.
Dose Factory
An industrial-style cafe and roastery on Naresuan Road, with the bean roaster right in the shop. If you're after a properly good cup, it's worth a stop. The raw, rugged decor gives you plenty of photo corners, and there are plugs so you can work too. Prices start a touch higher than usual because they focus on bean quality. Good if you want serious coffee and a work seat in one place.
P.S. Coffee Bar
A loft-style cafe in central Udon with both indoor and outdoor zones, and nearly every corner photographs well. The vibe is good and the seating is comfortable — reviewers like it because you get the coffee, a relaxed spot, and photo corners all at once. Good for a short work session where you also want to come away with nice shots.
The Butter Club
A bright, colorful cafe on Udon Dutsadi Road whose draw is the buttery baked goods and desserts made in-house. The room is cute and photographs well, and it's open morning to evening. Good for anyone who likes a sweet treat alongside their coffee. It's livelier than the quiet work cafes — better for a relaxed sit with coffee and a snack.
Tip
A lot of in-town Udon cafes close early, around 5–6pm. If you mean to work late into the evening, check the closing time first, or pick a place with a real workspace zone like LOBBY or Space 'n Taste, which are built for long stays — that's the safer bet.

Suburban cafes with field views and good photos
This group is about atmosphere and photo corners more than long work sessions. Many sit along the bypass and the rice fields just outside the city, a few minutes' drive from the center. They lean into nature, with gardens and green field views, and suit shooting content and then sipping coffee at a relaxed pace — the light is best in the morning or late afternoon.
154.7 Coffee Garden
A tucked-away cafe set in a garden along Udon's ring road, with a real nature feel — rice fields and green gardens. There are indoor and outdoor zones with plenty of room, and the shady, quiet setting lets you escape the bustle of town. The coffee is made seriously with quality beans. Good if you want to relax in nature and shoot the garden views. Drinks start around 150 THB.
Camp Cafe Udonthani
A camping-style cafe set in a rubber-tree garden on the city's edge, across from the Luang Ta Maha Bua Museum. It's decked out like a campsite among the trees, and it feels like taking a break in the woods. Open daily 9am to evening. Good for nature lovers who want something different from the in-town cafes, with cool campsite photo angles.
Berry Chapel Cafe
A two-story European-style cafe in the Mak Khaeng area, decked out like a European chapel and going all in on the details. People come here to shoot because the decor is so unusual, with photo nooks tucked all over both floors. Open 8am to 6pm. Iced americano is 75 THB a cup. Good for photo lovers who want a grand, over-the-top backdrop.
Under The Tree
A homey cafe on Pracharaksa Road, warm and shady under the trees, with cute decor in every corner. There are both indoor and garden zones, good for a laid-back sit and nature-feel photos. Drinks start around 100 THB. It's the kind of place that feels like sitting in someone's backyard garden.
Little Ground Common Space
An open-plan cafe surrounded by nature in the Nong Bua area, with a play zone for kids and plenty of room — good for families or groups of friends. The airy seating is comfortable and you can shoot all day. Open 10am to evening. Good for anyone who wants a big, uncramped space, and easy to bring kids along.
Straight talk
Suburban cafes like 154.7 Coffee Garden and Berry Chapel cost noticeably more than the in-town spots, because they're selling atmosphere and decor first. If your goal is to work cheaply, the in-town group is better value. And many of the out-of-town places require a drive with no public transport — bring your own vehicle or rent a motorbike and it'll be a lot easier.
