The beachfront scene in Hua Hin splits roughly into two styles. The first is hotel beach clubs with swimming pools, daybeds and cocktail bars, ideal for settling in from afternoon to evening. The other is seafood spots and open-air restaurants that set their tables down close to the sand, leaning on fresh seafood and easier prices. Both work for a breezy dinner; they just differ on budget and vibe.
Most of our picks sit in the Hua Hin–Cha-am stretch, which you can drive in a single line. Some are inside upscale resorts, others are standalone spots along the beach road. We'd suggest checking opening hours and calling ahead to book a seaside table, because the front-row tables fill up fast on weekend evenings.
The beach clubs and beachfront spots we picked
COAST Beach Club & Bistro (Centara Grand)
A beach club under the Centara Grand on Hua Hin beach, with plenty of open-air seating and clear views out to sea. The menu runs Mediterranean and seafood, wood-fired pizza and grills. Come in the late afternoon for a cocktail in the golden light. It opens in two sittings, lunch and dinner.
Beach Society (SO Sofitel Hua Hin)
The beachfront spot at SO Sofitel on the Cha-am side, decked out in bold colours in true brand style. Seats sit right on the sand with a wide view of the Gulf of Thailand. The menu leans on well-made food, wine and cocktails. Good for couples or a special meal; the budget runs higher but the setting earns it.
Baba Beach Club Hua Hin (by Sri panwa)
A music-leaning beach club on the Cha-am side, with a big footprint, clean sand and a long pool looking out to sea. The draw is the sound system and DJs. The bar and restaurant run all day serving Asian and international dishes, plus grills from the Josper. Good for party people who want to stay put well into the evening.
Sundance Dayclub Hua Hin
A newer dayclub in the Hua Hin–Cha-am zone. The selling point is an infinity pool around 40 metres long that seems to run straight into the horizon, plus cabanas, a swim-up bar and European fusion food. You enter on a day pass, so it works for an afternoon that rolls into dinner.
Oceanside Beach Club & Restaurant
An easygoing beachfront spot with seats on the sand and events that come and go, like barbecue brunches, tapas nights or themed beach parties. The food and drinks cover plenty of ground, so it suits groups of friends who want both the food and the atmosphere.
Let's Sea Hua Hin
The beachfront restaurant at Let's Sea resort, relaxed in feel with seats right by the water. The food mixes Thai and international, with sea bass dishes and signature cocktails standing out. Good for a quiet dinner without the noise.
Baan Dum Oceanfront Seafood
A seafood spot in an old Thai-style house on the Hua Hin shore, where nearly every table has a wide view of the Gulf. It leans on proper Thai-style seafood, fresh from the sea, with friendly service. Good for anyone who wants both the view and serious Thai flavours.
Chay Had Beach Front Restaurant
A beachfront spot in a good location, with open-air seating close to the water. It serves local Thai food, both seafood and dishes from the land, in a homey, laid-back setting at prices easier than the hotel side.
Azure (InterContinental Hua Hin)
The seafood restaurant at the InterContinental, built around local ingredients, with seafood from the fishing villages nearby and produce and meat from farms close by. The seaside setting is polished, so it suits a finer dinner.
Ton Seafood Restaurant
A beachfront seafood spot near the pier with a relaxed, local feel. The seafood is fresh and well seasoned, and reviews point to good service and fair prices. Good for a simple dinner with a sea view.
Tips for booking a seaside table
The front-row tables with a full sea view are usually limited, so if you want one, call ahead and say you'd like a table by the water, especially on Friday-to-Sunday evenings and long weekends. For beach clubs with a day pass, check the minimum-spend terms before you go.

What the evening light is like in Hua Hin
Because Hua Hin's beach faces east, the sun rises over the sea in the morning, so anyone who wants to see it come up straight out of the water has to be up early. In the evening, what you get is soft golden light with the sky slowly turning orange and pink behind the restaurants, which is lovely and photographs well, but it isn't the sun sinking into the sea like on the Andaman side. We say this plainly so you set your expectations right.
- Want the sunrise over the sea — come early, about 20–30 minutes before first light. Hua Hin beach is great for this.
- Want the golden evening light — sit down for dinner around 17:30–18:30 for the soft light and the colour-changing sky.
- Want to keep the party going — pick a music-leaning beach club that stays open late, so you get both dinner and the night-time atmosphere.
