Pathum Thani With Kids
Dream World + Science Museum + Farms

Pathum Thani sits just north of Bangkok — an easy drive, or a quick ride on the SRT Red Line — yet it packs in far more for kids than most people expect. There's Dream World, the theme park a few generations of Thai kids grew up with; the NSM national science museum, where you can play hands-on all day; and a string of farms along the canals where kids feed sheep, buffalo, and rabbits up close. We've laid this out as a 2-day plan, one big highlight per day, with enough room for breaks and meals — and we've checked the latest ticket prices and closing days, because the NSM is closed on Mondays and showing up on the wrong day means a wasted trip.

🔄 Updated 21 Jun 2026

Visiting Pathum Thani with kids is easier than you'd think, because the kid-friendly spots are clustered along the Rangsit–Khlong Luang–Thanyaburi corridor, which all runs together. Dream World is on Rangsit–Ongkharak Road, the NSM national science museum is in Khlong Luang (Technopolis), and the farms and animal cafés line up along the Thanyaburi canals. Driving between them takes no more than 20–30 minutes. Having your own car helps, but if you don't, you can take the SRT Red Line to Rangsit and grab a taxi or for-hire car from there.

The one thing people trip up on most: the NSM (National Science Museum) is closed on Mondays. Dream World is open every day, and most farms open daily too, though some only really come alive on weekends. If your trip straddles a Monday, save that day for Dream World or a farm, and keep the NSM for another day.

The Family Highlights Kids Actually Love

Before the day-by-day plan, here are the spots we think are most worth the trip for a family. Ticket prices are rough 2026 figures — booking online ahead of time is usually cheaper than at the gate, and you should always check the official site before you go, since promotions change often.

1

Dream World

Rangsit–Ongkharak Rd (km 7), Thanyaburi · open daily ~10:00–17:00 · ~45–60 min drive from central Bangkok

A theme park that several generations of Thai kids grew up with, with rides ranging from gentle ones for little ones up to roller coasters and a haunted house for teens. The headline draw is Snow Town, a sub-zero indoor area where kids throw snowballs and ride the slide. You can spend all day wandering past the castle and finding pretty corners to photograph. It's on almost every family's Pathum Thani list.

An Honest Note

Dream World ticket prices come in several types and shift with the promotions running at the time. The figures here are rough price ranges — always check the official site or a booking app before you go. A pass that includes Snow Town costs more than a standard ride pass. And at the NSM, while students get in free, adults still pay the regular combined 3-museum ticket.

The 2-Day Plan — One Big Highlight Per Day

The idea is to give the whole first day to Dream World, since you'll want a long stretch to play through it. Day two is a bit lighter: hit the science museum in the morning before it gets hot, then close out the afternoon at a farm where kids feed the animals. Adjust the timing for your kids' ages — if you have very young ones, cut the last activity of the day and head back to rest earlier.

Day 1

Dream World + Snow Town, a Full Day

9:00
Leave your accommodation early, heading for Dream WorldDream World is on Rangsit–Ongkharak Road. Leaving early gets you there at opening, when crowds are thin and ride lines are short.
10:00
Enter the park, play the little-kids zone + carouselStart with the gentle rides so little ones can warm up, and photograph the castle and garden corners while the sun is still soft.
11:30
Tackle the big rides + water ridesOlder kids and teens split off for the roller coaster and haunted house, while little ones can play the wet zone. Pack a change of clothes.
12:30
Break for lunch in the parkThere are several restaurants and food courts. Pick a shaded spot so the little ones can rest before the afternoon.
14:00
Enter Snow TownIt's sub-zero inside; the park lends out jackets. Kids throw snowballs and ride the slide — keep an eye on the clock so little ones don't get too cold.
15:30
Catch the parade / play the remaining ridesCheck the parade and show schedule at the entrance, and plan your rides around show times. Grab your photo spots before heading out.
17:00
Head back to restKids will be wiped out today — get back and to bed early to save energy for tomorrow.
Day 2

NSM in the Morning + Animal Farm in the Afternoon

9:30
Arrive at the NSM at openingThe science museum opens at 9:30. Get there at opening while it's quiet, so kids can play the hands-on exhibits without jostling for a turn.
9:45

11:00

12:30
LunchThere are eateries within the Technopolis grounds, or drive out to eat around Rangsit–Khlong Luang, where there's more choice.
14:00
Head to an animal farm on the Thanyaburi sidePick Gae Ga Bua (Khlong 10) to feed sheep and rabbits, or Ton Khao Hom (Khlong 7) to feed buffalo. It's about a 20–30 minute drive from the NSM.
15:00
Feed the animals + sit at the caféKids feed the animals while parents sip coffee and rest their legs. The open field setting is cool on the eyes, and the soft light is great for photos.
16:30
Grab some souvenirs, head homeStop at Talat Thai or Rangsit market for fruit and souvenirs before heading back, and dodge the weekday evening rush hour.

If Your Trip Straddles a Monday

Don't put the NSM on a Monday — it's closed. Make Monday your Dream World day (open daily) or a farm day, and keep the science museum for Tuesday–Sunday. Most farms and animal cafés open daily, but some are livelier and only run their markets on weekends, so if you want the full atmosphere, go on a weekend.

Extra Options If You Have More Than 2 Days

Tips for Surviving Pathum Thani With Kids

  • Book tickets online ahead of time — Dream World and the others usually price online tickets cheaper than at the gate, and you skip the ticket queue.
  • Check closing days before locking in the plan — the NSM is closed Mondays, while Dream World is open daily. Note this before you order your days.
  • Pack warm gear for Snow Town — it really is sub-zero. The park lends jackets, but bringing your own gloves and thick socks keeps kids more comfortable.
  • Dodge the midday sun — Pathum Thani is hot and open. Schedule indoor activities or rest from 12:00–14:00, then head out in the late afternoon.
  • A car makes it smoother — the sights are spread along the canals and public transport doesn't reach everywhere. Without your own car, take the Red Line to Rangsit and continue by taxi or for-hire car.

FAQ

What's the best place to take kids in Pathum Thani?

If you can only pick one, Dream World is the best value because you can play all day and it has Snow Town, which is hard to find elsewhere in this area. If you want substance alongside the fun, the NSM national science museum in Khlong Luang lets you touch and play with almost everything, and students get in free. And if you want kids to get close to animals, the farm cafés around Thanyaburi — like Gae Ga Bua and Ton Khao Hom — let them feed sheep, rabbits, and buffalo.

What days is the NSM in Pathum Thani open, and how much is entry?

The NSM national science museum in Khlong Luang is open Tuesday–Friday 9:30–15:00 and Saturday–Sunday/holidays 9:30–17:00, closed Mondays. The combined 3-museum ticket is around 300 THB for adults, while students, undergraduates, and seniors aged 60 and over get in free. Check the official site before you go, as hours may shift by season.

How much is a Dream World ticket, and does it include Snow Town?

Dream World tickets come in several types. Roughly, a gate pass is around 300 THB and an unlimited-ride pass around 600 THB, while a ticket that includes Snow Town costs more than that. Prices change with each promotion, so we'd suggest booking online ahead — usually cheaper than at the gate — and checking Dream World's official site before every visit.

Do you need your own car to visit Pathum Thani with kids?

Not strictly, but it's far more convenient, because the sights are spread along the Rangsit–Khlong Luang–Thanyaburi corridor and public transport doesn't reach everywhere. Without a car, take the SRT Red Line to Rangsit station, then continue to each spot by taxi or for-hire car. But if you have little ones and a lot of bags, having your own car or a rental is the most flexible option.

How should you plan a Pathum Thani trip with very young kids?

Focus on one big highlight per day, build in a midday rest back at your accommodation, and avoid the noon sun. On the first day, take Dream World at an unhurried pace — stick to the little-kids zones and keep your time in Snow Town short so no one gets too cold. On day two, do the NSM in the morning before it heats up, then close with a farm where kids feed the animals in the afternoon. If kids are tired, cut the last activity and head back to rest.
