Mookata in Rayong comes in two main styles. The first is the open-line buffet — pay once, then help yourself to pork, beef, seafood, snacks, and dessert. Most run 199–279 THB a head, and many have no time limit. The second is Korean BBQ / yakiniku ordered by the plate, better if you want to pick good cuts of meat yourself; these mostly open from evening to late. We've sorted from the lighter-priced spots up to the more loaded ones, finishing with the order-by-the-plate places.
Mookata & BBQ buffet spots locals in Rayong go to
Aroi Jaeng Riverside Mookata (Taling Chan Floating Market)
The cheapest mookata buffet on this list, sitting right by the water at Taling Chan Floating Market with an easygoing vibe. There's marinated pork, chicken, bacon, shrimp, squid, plus snacks like larb, pad thai, and som tam. Kids under 120 cm get a special rate, so it's great for the whole family.
4 Mong Hot-Pan Buffet (Rayong branch)
A grill buffet with a low starting price. What people like is the fresh shrimp and refillable seafood; there's pork, beef, and a full spread of snacks and dessert too. Good for groups who want seafood without paying a lot. Opens in the afternoon.
Rama 9 Grilled Shrimp Korean BBQ (Noen Phra)
A grill buffet where grilled shrimp is the star. There's pork belly, beef, squid, bacon, and liver to grill, at a budget price. It opens a bit later, so it's handy if you finish work late.
Je Jai Dee Mookata Buffet, Butter-Grilled Kho Khun Beef
For grain-fed (kho khun) beef grilled with butter on a hot pan — people drive all the way out to Ban Khai for it. The food line is loaded, with salmon yam and refillable beef snacks. Budget-friendly but the ingredients are solid, and it's a place people come back to often. No time limit.
Thao Kae Mookata & Seafood Buffet (Saeng Chan Beach)
A mookata buffet right by the Saeng Chan Beach area. The highlight is fresh seafood — shrimp, shellfish, crab, and salmon. If you're staying near the beach and want dinner close to your hotel, this one's convenient. It opens earlier on weekends.
Tid Mun Hot-Pan Grill Buffet (Rayong branch)
A grill buffet locals talk about a lot, combining butter-grill, mookata, and shabu in one place. The food line is long, and you can keep refilling snacks and dessert. Good for coming as a group and settling in for a while. No time limit.
Jack Cup Korean BBQ (Choeng Noen)
A Korean-style pork grill buffet in the Choeng Noen area, with grilled pork and baked seafood. The price already includes drinks, so it's easy to work out the per-head cost — good if you don't want a drinks charge added on later.
Mana Shabu & Grill
A spot that covers both shabu and grilling in one meal. The food line is long, with imported beef and several broths, plus snacks like roast-duck jade noodles and spaghetti. If you want both hot-pot dipping and grilling done in one place, this is a great pick. Some branches open until late.
CoCo Yakiniku
A Japanese-style yakiniku beef-grill spot ordered à la carte, with a garden feel. The beef comes in several grades — grain-fed kho khun, Australian, Thai wagyu, and Charolais. Good if you want to pick good cuts by the plate rather than a buffet.
Ba Korean Grill (Ban Chang)
A Korean BBQ spot in the Ban Chang area, ordered by set. The highlight is marinated pork belly and Korean side dishes. Good for anyone staying or working around Ban Chang–Map Ta Phut who wants grilled meat close by without driving into town.
Tip
Most buffet spots get packed from around 8 pm onward, especially Friday and Saturday — if you're coming with a big group, calling ahead to book a table is safer. Many places also charge for drinks separately from the buffet: some bill drinks by the bottle, others do a 30–40 THB per-head refill. Ask before you sit down so the bill doesn't surprise you.

How to pick the right Rayong mookata spot
- Tightest budget — aim for the 199 THB/head spots like Aroi Jaeng Riverside, 4 Mong, or Rama 9 Grilled Shrimp. Great value if you can eat a lot.
- Into butter-grilled beef — Je Jai Dee's butter-grilled kho khun beef, or Tid Mun, which combines butter-grill, mookata, and shabu in one place.
- Want seafood — Thao Kae in the Saeng Chan Beach area, and 4 Mong, both stand out for shrimp and seafood.
- Not a buffet fan, want good cuts — CoCo Yakiniku for à la carte yakiniku, or Mana for both hot-pot dipping and grilling.
- Staying around Ban Chang–Map Ta Phut — Ba Korean Grill is closer than the in-town spots, no need to drive into the city.
Eating Rayong mookata for value and safety
Start with grilled before fried
Grill pork, beef, and seafood until you're genuinely full first, then move on to snacks and dessert. It's better value than heading for the fried stuff right away.
Change the broth and clean the grill
If the broth gets cloudy or the grill is heavily burnt, ask to swap them — the taste improves and you grill cleaner. Most places are happy to change it for you.
