Siam Amazing Park has been running since 1980, making it one of the oldest theme-park-plus-water-park complexes in the region. What families like is that a single ticket covers both the rides and the water park, so little ones can splash in the shallow zones, older kids can hit the thrill rides, and parents can rest by the wave pool without shuttling around all day. It's a solid pick for a day off when you want to let the kids run free.
Highlights for kids
The park is split into several zones, so you can wander all day without much repeating. Here are the parts kids tend to love most.
- 🌊 Giant wave pool — a huge artificial wave pool recognised by Guinness World Records as the largest in the world, with rolling waves that feel like the real sea. Kids adore it.
- 🛝 Slides and water rides — several long slides, a lazy river to float around on a tube, plus a shallow splash zone with water cannons for smaller children.
- 🎢 More than 30 amusement rides — including the Vortex suspended coaster, the Si-Am Tower observation deck with city views, and thrill rides like the Giant Drop for older kids and adults.
- 🦕 Dinosaur and Africa zones — Dinotopia and Jurassic Adventure have moving dinosaur figures, while the Africa zone uses model creatures (these are animatronic, not live animals), fun for younger kids to walk through and photograph.
- 🎡 Rides for little ones — a carousel, a Ferris wheel and gentle rides for small children who aren't tall enough for the big attractions yet.
When to go and what to pack
Bangkok gets hot with strong midday sun, so aim to arrive when the park opens at 10am, ride the amusement park while it's still cooler in the morning, then move to the water park from late morning into the afternoon. Pack swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes, sunscreen, secure shoes and a hat. Food is sold inside, but bringing water and snacks for the kids makes the day easier.
Before you go
- 🕙 Opening hours — open daily roughly 10:00–18:00 (the water park usually closes earlier, around 17:00). Hours can shift by season and holiday, so check the website before you go.
- 🎟️ Tickets (approximate) — the combined Adult Adventure Pass (unlimited rides + water park) is around ฿1,000 at the gate, often dropping to about ฿500 during promotions. Children under 100 cm tall enter free, and seniors 60+ enter the water park free (rides need an extra ticket). Prices change, so check siamamazingpark.com; booking online in advance is often cheaper.
- 🚗 Getting there — it's in the Khan Na Yao area of eastern Bangkok. The easiest way is to drive, take a taxi or use Grab (there's a big car park). Alternatively, take the MRT Pink Line toward the Ramindra–Min Buri area, then a short taxi/Grab ride — there's no train right to the gate.
- 👶 Which ages it suits — good for all ages. Small children can enjoy the shallow water zones and gentle rides, while thrill rides and big slides usually have height limits (roughly 100–130 cm and up), so those suit older kids from about 6 years.
Safety and value
Before getting in the water, read the depth signs and rules for each pool. Small children should wear a float or life vest with an adult right beside them at all times — the wave pool is stronger than it looks, so never let kids play alone. On value, one ticket covers both the theme park and the water park with unlimited rides, so it's worth it if you plan to stay all day; if you only want half a day, look at single-zone tickets or a promotion first.
