Short answer: Chonburi has several easy beaches near Bangkok (Pattaya has its own pages). For a Thai family beach choose Bang Saen, a long, budget-friendly stretch; for a town with seafood and a Japanese community choose Si Racha; for a quiet island cross to Ko Sichang, with its palace, temples and calm pace.

FAQ

Which Chonburi beach besides Pattaya?

Bang Saen is the popular Thai beach — near Bangkok, long and budget-friendly, great for families and day trips, while Si Racha suits seafood lovers and a town base. For real quiet, cross to Ko Sichang.

How do I reach Ko Sichang and what is there?

Take a boat from Si Racha pier, about 45 minutes. The island has the Phra Chudadhuj Palace, cave temples, viewpoints and small beaches; rent a bicycle or motorbike to loop it. It is quiet — a good weekend escape from the city.

Is Bang Saen good for a day trip?

Very much so — Bang Saen is about 1.5 hours from Bangkok, and many go for the day to rent a beach chair, eat seafood and swim. Stay a night if you want the sunset and evening market; weekends are crowded.
