Bangkapi is a large residential district on Bangkok's east side, and its landmark is The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi at the junction where Lat Phrao Road meets Sereethai and Nawamin. Around it you'll find fresh markets, a night market, a Lotus's hypermarket, and local restaurants that stay open late. What changed the area is the MRT Yellow Line along Lat Phrao Road, with the Lat Phrao 101 station right by this zone, letting you ride to connect with the other lines. The Orange Line under construction will tie it even closer to the centre in future. Stays here lean toward budget hotels and serviced apartments, many built for longer visits, people with business at NIDA or Ramkhamhaeng University, and anyone wanting a good-value room near the mall. The trade-off is the fair distance from the main tourist sights, some hotels sit deep in a soi, and Lat Phrao and Sereethai roads jam up at rush hour.

★★★
