This plan suits anyone with just a morning-to-mid-afternoon window in Bangkapi — whether you're staying at a hotel near Lat Phrao 101, in the area for business at NIDA or Ramkhamhaeng University, or just want a change of pace from downtown Bangkok for a few hours. We start at an old-house café near the Lam Sali junction, move on to the park locals are attached to, then take the MRT Yellow Line and walk the skywalk straight into The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi without ever crossing a road in the sun. From there it's a seafood lunch, an afternoon coffee break, and an evening food market to close things out. Every stop is a short walk or a quick train ride from the last, so you don't need to drive yourself.
The route
Morning café and park, then afternoon mall and evening market
Worth knowing about getting around
Bangkapi got a lot easier to reach once the MRT Yellow Line opened its Bangkapi and Lam Sali stations, with a skywalk running straight into The Mall — no road crossing required. If you're driving yourself, build in extra time during rush hour, since Lat Phrao and Sereethai roads get fairly congested according to people who live in the area.
Adjust the plan to your time and style
Bangkapi is a lived-in district rather than a tourist one, so its highlights are the malls, markets and parks locals actually use. Reshape the plan around the time you have.
- Only three hours: keep addict.co → The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi → Laem Charoen Seafood. All three connect by skywalk from the MRT Yellow Line.
- Here to shop: drop the Khlong Chan Arboretum and stay inside The Mall Lifestore — it is the area's largest mall, with food halls, a kids' zone and a supermarket under one roof.
- With kids: start at the arboretum early while it is still cool, then move indoors for the afternoon. That order tires them out the least.
- Want the evening market feel: shift the whole plan to start at 2pm and finish at Tawanna Bangkapi after dark, when the food market is at its busiest.
💡 Know before you go: Bangkapi
Get off at MRT Lam Sali or Bangkapi on the Yellow Line — skywalks run straight into the malls, so you never cross the busy main road at street level.
Around 500-900 baht covering coffee, the seafood lunch and a dessert. The park and the markets cost nothing to walk.
The Bangkapi intersection and Lat Phrao Road jam badly from about 4pm to 7pm. If you are heading back then, use the Yellow Line rather than a car.
Move into The Mall Lifestore for the afternoon — restaurants, a cinema and a supermarket are all in the one building. Only the park stop needs dropping.
