A Family Day Out With Kids' Zone & Skate Park Near Bang Tao

Blue Tree Phuket sits in Cherng Talay, Thalang district, near Bang Tao Beach and the Laguna area. It's a large open-air hub that gathers an indoor kids' adventure zone, a forest park, a skate park, restaurants and cafés into one place. Plenty of families stop by because the kids get a safe place to run around while parents relax over a coffee.

First, an honest heads-up so nobody arrives disappointed: Blue Tree's original lagoon water park — the one with the big slides and the cliff jump into the water — closed permanently on 1 August 2024. Blue Tree has since reinvented itself as an open-air lifestyle and community hub across roughly 56 acres, with no water rides anymore. It's still a place you can bring kids, though, thanks to an indoor adventure zone, green space and a skate park that give everyone from toddlers to teens something to do. This guide covers what a family day here actually looks like now.

Highlights for kids

The zone kids love most is the air-conditioned indoor adventure area — when the sun gets too fierce, you duck inside to climb, jump and play all day. If you'd rather let them run around outdoors, the forest park and skate park outside are free to enter. All told, it's a place where little ones through to teenagers can each find their own kind of fun.

  • Indoor adventure zone (air-conditioned) — trampolines, a zipline, slides, bumper cars, net climbing, a pirate-ship play area and a Lego corner. Great for toddlers through primary-school age, and playable even in strong sun or rain (charged separately per person).
  • Forest park / community park — over 15 rai of green space with shaded walking and jogging paths, a lotus pond and benches. Free to enter, and you can bring both kids and pets for a stroll.
  • Skate park — a proper skate park with ramps, rails and obstacles for older kids to practise skateboarding or scooters. Free to enter.
  • Restaurants, cafés and event space — there are restaurants, cafés, a supermarket, and often weekend markets or events. A comfortable spot for parents to sit while the kids play.

Tips for bringing kids

Midday sun in Phuket is intense, so with younger kids it's smart to play the air-conditioned indoor zone in the afternoon, then head out to walk the park in the cooler evening. Pack water, hats and grip socks — many indoor play areas require the socks before kids can go in.

Before you go

  • Opening hours — the park and outdoor areas are broadly open around 6:00 AM–11:00 PM, while the indoor adventure zone runs roughly 10:00 AM–8:00 PM (hours differ by venue, so check the latest before you go).
  • Approximate fees — walking in, the forest park and the skate park are free. The indoor adventure zone is charged separately per person or per session, and prices shift with promos and time of day, so check current rates on the Blue Tree Phuket page before travelling.
  • Getting there — it's in Cherng Talay, Thalang, near Bang Tao Beach and Laguna, about a 20–25 minute drive from Phuket airport. Taxi, Grab or self-drive all work, and there's parking.
  • Best age range — the indoor zone is most fun for toddlers through primary-school age (roughly 3–12), while the skate park and park suit older kids, teens and the whole family.

Is it worth it and is it safe

Blue Tree today works better as a half-day break from the beach than as a full-day water park. If you specifically want slides and swimming, that's gone here — pick another Phuket water park instead. But if you want a safe, shaded place for kids to run around with food and seating on hand, it's good value since most of the grounds are free, and the indoor zone is staffed for safety.
