Chim by Siam Wisdom is the Thai fine-dining restaurant of chef Thanintorn "Noom" Chantharawan, who has held a MICHELIN star every year since 2018, back when the restaurant was still called Siam Wisdom, and has kept the star in the 2026 guide too. What sets this restaurant apart from other upscale Thai spots is the chef's mission — digging up and reviving Rattanakosin-era Thai recipes, dishes straight out of old royal-court cookbooks that are barely cooked anywhere else today, reinterpreted through seasonal set menus. That's why MICHELIN has kept a star on this restaurant for nearly a decade: it's not just pretty Thai food, it's living history you can actually eat.
Everything here is served as a set, and each season gets its own theme — like the winter "HeManTaWaYo" menu, which takes you through ingredients and flavours from north to south Thailand in a single meal, or the Rattanakosin Winter set (Nov 2025–Feb 2026), offered at two levels: a lunch set at THB 3,250++ or the full tasting set at THB 4,250++. If you want to try MICHELIN-star cooking without paying full price, the lunch set is a more accessible door in than you'd think. The restaurant itself just made a major move, relocating from Sukhumvit Soi 31 to a house at 315 Soi Ongkarak 13 (Samsen 28) in Dusit, which gives it a quiet old-house atmosphere that suits the ancient-food concept even better than the old location.
One thing worth knowing before you go: the new Dusit-Samsen location isn't near any BTS or MRT station, so you'll need a taxi or Grab, about 10–15 minutes from the Victory Monument or Bang Sue side. That sounds like a downside, but once you're there you'll understand — being tucked away from the shopping districts is exactly what makes the meal feel like being invited to someone's home for dinner. The restaurant is open daily for both lunch (11:30–14:30) and dinner (17:00–23:00), but takes reservations only, and requires a THB 1,000 deposit to confirm your seat. For anyone collecting MICHELIN-starred Thai restaurants, this one is one of Bangkok's tastiest history lessons.
