Most mookata in Sa Kaeo is all-you-can-eat buffet, with per-head prices starting at around 120 THB and going up to about 250 THB at places with plenty of imported meat and seafood. Restaurants open from late afternoon into the night, roughly 3–4 PM until almost midnight — good for meeting friends after work or a family get-together on a day off. We've split the places by area to keep it clear, because Sa Kaeo is a province where the town and Aranyaprathet sit in opposite corners, about an hour's drive apart.
Check the price before you order
The per-head prices we list are approximate ranges from reviews and the restaurants' pages. Real prices shift with promotions and what you pick (imported beef, prawns and squid are often charged extra). It's worth calling to check or looking at the restaurant's page on the day you go, especially on long weekends when many places book out fast.
Restaurants in Sa Kaeo town
If you're staying or working in Sa Kaeo town, the Suwannason Road area is the easiest spot to reach for grilled food, with both Thai-style mookata and Korean-style BBQ depending on your mood.

Restaurants in Aranyaprathet
Aranyaprathet is a busy border town, so its mookata restaurants compete hard — prices are good and there are more options than you'd expect, with many being full-on buffets. It's handy if you've come to visit Rong Kluea Market and need somewhere for dinner.
Khun Ammy Mookata, Branch 1
The original Aranyaprathet branch that made the brand a name. Mookata paired with bold, spicy yam salads, open from evening until midnight — a meet-up spot for locals who finish work late.
Nong Da Mookata

Go Grill Buffet BBQ
A Korean-style buffet grill in Aranyaprathet that focuses on marinated meat and a nicely decorated room — good for a younger group that wants both the food and a spot for photos.
Watthana Nakhon and the outskirts
Watthana Nakhon district sits between Sa Kaeo town and Aranyaprathet, and locals rate its mookata spots for value and good flavour. If you're driving this stretch in the evening, it's worth a stop.
Piti Mookata & Shabu, Watthana Nakhon
A restaurant praised in Wongnai reviews for fresh ingredients and good value, with both mookata and shabu under one roof — good for a group that wants grilled and boiled without having to choose.
Khun Chompoo Mookata, Branch 1 Watthana Nakhon
A buffet in Watthana Nakhon open daily from 3 PM to 11 PM, with lots of tables and easy parking — good for a big group or a family gathering. It's at 999 Moo 10, Watthana Nakhon subdistrict.
Making the group dinner work
Mookata and a group dinner already go well together, but to keep the meal smooth there's a little to sort out beforehand — especially if there are a lot of you or you're going on a day off.
- Call to book a table if there are more than 6 of you — popular spots in town and Aranyaprathet fill up fast on Friday and Saturday, so booking half a day ahead is the safer bet.
- Go before 6 PM — early evening is the busiest. If you don't want to wait for a grill, get there early evening for a good table.
- Check whether ice and drinking water are included — some places charge separately, some include them in the buffet price. Ask first to avoid confusion.
- Imported beef, prawns and squid are often charged extra — on a tight budget, pick a single-price place that includes everything and it's easier to control.
- Easy to split per head — a single-price buffet makes sharing the bill across a group simple, with no adding up plate by plate.
On the border, if you're planning to continue
If you eat mookata in Aranyaprathet and are thinking of crossing to Poipet or carrying on to Siem Reap, always check the border situation and your crossing documents with the Aranyaprathet–Khlong Luk checkpoint before you actually travel. Checkpoint hours and conditions can change — don't rely on old information.
