FAQ

Where in Cha-am should I stay?

The center of Cha-am Beach is best for a first visit — walk to seafront seafood and rooms for every budget. For quiet and family stays choose North Cha-am/Puektian with calmer resorts; budget travelers can stay in Cha-am town near the market and walk down to the beach.

Is Cha-am a good weekend trip from Bangkok?

Very much so — Cha-am is about 2.5–3 hours from Bangkok, a Thai family seaside town with a long beach, lots of seafood and better value than Hua Hin. Weekends are busy, so book ahead.

Cha-am or Hua Hin — where to stay?

Cha-am is quieter and cheaper, focused on seafront seafood, while Hua Hin has more nightlife, malls, a night market and international dining. They are about 25 km apart, so many base in one and easily drive to the other.
