Where to stay in
Natai Beach

Natai Beach is for travellers who want a beach near Phuket without the island's crowds. The sand runs for several kilometres, it's fine and uncrowded, and the sunsets are good because the coast faces west. The key thing to grasp before booking is that there's very little here beyond the resorts: no walking street, no rows of convenience stores, and few restaurants outside the hotels. Most people come to Natai to settle into a resort and use its pool, spa, and dining. The upside is that it's closer to Phuket airport (about 25 minutes) than many of Phuket's own famous beaches. Getting around means a rental car, taxi, or hotel shuttle. Phuket Town or Khao Lak are each roughly a 45-minute to one-hour drive if you want a day out.

The Hotspring Beach Resort & Spa

★ 4-star · Best for: Good value · hot spring pools · 🔎 Find a deal on Agoda

A beachfront resort on Natai whose clear selling point is its natural hot spring pools at around 40°C, paired with a cold pool to switch between. FAQ

How close is Natai Beach to Phuket airport?

Closer than many expect. Driving north from Phuket airport across the Sarasin Bridge to Natai takes about 25 minutes, which is quicker than reaching several of Phuket's own southern beaches like Kata or Karon. Most resorts run airport transfers, and some include them in the room package, so Natai is a strong pick if you want to reach a beachfront stay fast after landing.

Does Natai Beach have restaurants and nightlife?

Barely. Natai is a very quiet, self-contained beach with no walking street, bars, or rows of convenience stores like Patong or Khao Lak. There are a few restaurants outside the hotels but not many, so most people eat within their resort. If you like quiet and relaxing at your accommodation, Natai delivers. If you want to wander, eat at lots of places, or have nightlife, choose a beach in Phuket itself or Khao Lak instead.

Who is Natai Beach best for, and is it good for families with kids?

Natai suits couples, honeymooners, and anyone wanting privacy on a quiet beach. Families can come too, with options like Natai Beach Resort or Santhiya that have big pools and plenty of space, but be aware there's little around in the way of activities or shops for kids to head out to, so most of the entertainment is inside the resort. If a family wants both a beach and varied attractions and restaurants, a Phuket beach may be more convenient. For a quiet break near the airport, though, Natai is a good choice.
