▫️ MICHELIN Selected — another 305 restaurants that meet inspector standards

Beyond stars and Bib Gourmand, the guide also has a MICHELIN Selected tier (formerly called The Plate) — restaurants inspectors have actually eaten at and certified as meeting the standard, even without a top award. The 2026 edition launched with 288 restaurants, and Michelin has been adding more through the year, now standing at around 305. We keep following this list and will keep pulling out standout restaurants for the province-level pages.

How to book a starred restaurant in time

Most Three Star and Two Star restaurants open bookings roughly 1–3 months ahead through their own website or platforms like TableCheck, and Friday-Saturday dinner seats go first. The trick is a weekday lunch — a shorter course but a much lighter price. Most Bib Gourmand restaurants don't take reservations at all; just line up at opening time.

💡 Know this before you chase the Michelin trail

💸
Budgets vary tenfold

Bib Gourmand starts in the tens to low hundreds of baht per person. A street-food One Star like Jay Fai runs into the thousands. A Three Star tasting menu lands around 10,000+ THB. Set your budget first and choosing a restaurant gets a lot easier.

🪙
Most Bib restaurants take cash

Many shophouse and street-food restaurants still only accept cash or PromptPay. Carry cash to be safe.

The queues are real

Famous spots like Jay Fai or well-known Bib restaurants can mean an hour-long wait. Arrive before opening time or avoid weekends to cut the wait significantly.

👔
Dress codes apply at fine dining only

Most fine-dining restaurants ask for smart casual (no flip-flops or shorts). Bib Gourmand and Selected restaurants are come-as-you-are.

📅
The list shifts every year

Michelin announces a new edition around late November each year, and adds Selected restaurants throughout the year — this page tracks the official announcements. Check the last-updated date at the top of the article.

FAQ

How many restaurants are in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026?

485 in total — 2 Three Stars, 8 Two Stars, 33 One Stars, 137 Bib Gourmand, and 305 MICHELIN Selected (the Selected count rises through the year as Michelin adds more), plus 5 Green Stars for sustainability that are paired with a main tier.

Which restaurants in Thailand hold Three Michelin Stars?

There are 2, both in Bangkok — Sorn, Southern Thai cooking and Thailand's first Three Star restaurant, and Sühring, contemporary German cooking, newly promoted from Two Stars in the 2026 edition.

What is Bib Gourmand, and how is it different from a star?

It's an award for good food at a fair price — Michelin inspectors pick restaurants offering a satisfying, quality meal for roughly under 1,000 THB per person. The 2026 edition has 137 restaurants nationwide, from rice-and-curry stalls and noodle shops to third-generation shophouses a century old. A Michelin star, by contrast, rewards culinary excellence with no price ceiling.

Which provinces have Michelin restaurants?

The 2026 guide covers 12 provinces — Bangkok and Greater Bangkok (Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Pathum Thani, Samut Sakhon), Chiang Mai, Phuket, Phang Nga, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Chonburi, and Surat Thani-Koh Samui, which just joined the guide for the first time.

Do Michelin restaurants require a reservation?

Starred restaurants, especially Three Star and Two Star, should be booked 1–3 months ahead through the restaurant's website or TableCheck/Chope. Most Bib Gourmand restaurants don't take reservations — just queue up in person. Popular spots have long lines at lunch and dinner on weekends, so arrive before opening.

When was this list last updated?

Compiled from the official 2026 announcement (November 27, 2025) and cross-checked against the official guide pages as of July 2026 — Michelin adds Selected restaurants through the year, and we keep this updated. Check the date at the top of the article.
